The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners has awarded Thomas Edison State University accreditation of its business programs.

On April 27, 2017, the School of Business and Management earned accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Earning ACBSP accreditation was a quality milestone achievement articulated in the School's multiyear strategic plan.

The ACBSP's accreditation process was predicated on the Baldrige model of continuous improvement and focused on teaching excellence, student learning outcomes and continuously measuring multilevel educational outcomes using several performance benchmarks.

As dean, my top priority was earning ACBSP accreditation.

This quality achievement reinforces the School's mission and brand promise to, "Deliver practitioner-oriented, competency-based business education within a learner-centered environment that prepares ethically responsible, globally engaged business professionals, entrepreneurs and leaders."

Moreover, it increases the School's marketplace competitiveness and, in turn, further supports students and alumni in their educational and professional endeavors.

I was proud to accept our accreditation award on behalf of the School of Business and Management at the May 2017 ACBSP Annual Conference in Anaheim, Calif., and would like to take this opportunity to thank our School and University staff, mentors, students and alumni who participated in preparing the School's self-study documentation and engaged with the site visit evaluation team.

This was a group effort and we accomplished the goal.
