Interested in learning how many credits you will need to earn your degree at Thomas Edison State College?

Wondering what the first steps are?

It is as easy as completing the online application.

Everyone who applies to Thomas Edison State College receives an evaluation of their past college credits, professional training and military training. The evaluation will help you determine how many credits you will need to complete your degree. But first, you have to apply.

The Application Fee of $75 includes your academic program evaluation. To conduct a thorough evaluation that considers all of your past college education and training, the College will need transcripts and documentation of all of your previously earned college credits, professional training, military training, licenses and/or certifications and college-level knowledge acquired outside the classroom. Learn more.

Once your Thomas Edison State College application and transcripts have been received, the College conducts an academic program evaluation. All of your past college credits, training and professional licensures and/or certifications are reviewed to determine:

  • how many previously earned college credits can be applied to a degree program;
  • whether professional certifications or licensures may be applied as credit toward a degree program; and
  • how many credits you will need to earn to complete your degree.

Your application will be acknowledged via letter and e-mail, and will contain an applicant confirmation number and login information that enables you to track the status of your transcripts and evaluation online. Completed evaluations are sent via U.S. mail to all applicants and are also available online.

Applicants may review their evaluation and discuss any questions they have by contacting the College at (888) 442-8372 or info@tesc.edu.

To apply for financial aid, submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and a Thomas Edison State College Financial Aid Application. Applicants are reminded to include the Thomas Edison State College financial aid code on their financial aid paperwork. That code is: 011648.

Applicants may enroll for courses and start earning their degree at any time. Once the annual enrollment tuition is paid, applicants are considered enrolled students for one full year and have complete access to all student services. If you have any questions about the application and evaluation process, financial aid or how to enroll, please contact Thomas Edison State College at (888) 442-8372 or info@tesc.edu.
