On The Move

A Corporate Choice® partnership with Thomas Edison State University is an investment in your organization's most crucial resource: your employees.

The University has a long history of working collaboratively with organizations to develop educational programs that are aligned with their goals and strategic plans. We're proud to say that our partners are among the most respected corporations in the public and private sectors.

Here are some of our recently launched partnerships:

Special Olympics of New Jersey: Thomas Edison State University has partnered with the Special Olympics of New Jersey (SONJ) to provide an avenue for the organization's employees to achieve their educational goals. The endeavor is an employee tuition assistance initiative for SONJ. The University visited their Lawrenceville, N.J., headquarters to meet with employees and discussed their educational options and the resources that are available to them.

Under the new partnership agreement, all staff of the SONJ will be eligible to enroll in any degree program offered by the University.

Graduate! Philadelphia: The organization has partnered with the University to help adults who have some college credit but no degree, to complete their education. "The goal of the partnership is to increase the number of adults completing college in the Greater Philadelphia region by engaging businesses, government bodies, organized labor, workforce and economic development groups, community organizations and college graduates to create new pathways for adults to complete their degree," said David Hoftiezer, director of Outreach and Recruitment.

San Joaquin Valley College: Thomas Edison State University has partnered with San Joaquin Valley College in Visalia, Calif., to provide a streamlined, affordable pathway for their students to earn a bachelor's degree in aviation maintenance technology.

Through the partnership, San Joaquin Valley College students can apply up to 69 credits toward a Bachelor of Science in Applied Science and Technology (BSAST) degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology at the University. Students in the program fulfill their airframe and power plant (A&P) licensure requirements with San Joaquin Valley College and transfer their academic credits to the University. Most students will only need to earn 42 more credits to complete their BSAST degree requirements. The program is limited to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) licensed airframe and power plant mechanics.

UPS Pilot Program: The University has developed an initiative with longtime Corporate Choice® partner, UPS, for the organization's inside sales and customer service employees based in San Antonio, Texas. The first of its kind, this new pilot program is taking students from application to graduation, with staff from the Office of Strategic Partnerships and Outreach at the University assisting students in each step of their academic journey. To date, 40 students are enrolled in the pilot program.

American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE): The institution has signed a partnership with American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE), a national association of energy professionals dedicated to ensuring the input of African Americans and other minorities in the development of energy policy regulations, technologies and environmental issues. The association's more than 2,000 membership organizations represent major energy, nuclear and regulating firms within 43 active chapters across the U.S.

The partnership supports AABE's mission to provide viable resources for its members and increase each individual's value in the energy sector. Members of AABE will be able to obtain their undergraduate or graduate degree from the University as well as industry-specific graduate certificates offered by the institution.
