NRC Scholarship Announcement

Towers The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has awarded more than $197,000 in scholarship funds to Thomas Edison State University to benefit students enrolled in undergraduate programs related to the nuclear power industry.

If you are already enrolled or considering enrolling in the School of Applied Science and Technology's undergraduate or graduate degree programs in Nuclear Energy Engineering Technology, Nuclear Engineering Technology, Energy Systems, Electronics Systems Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Nuclear Energy Technology Management, Radiological Protection, Cybersecurity—Critical Infrastructure, Information Technology or Technical Studies, you may be eligible for a scholarship.

Please note that students in these programs who are already receiving tuition assistance and federal or state financial aid may still be eligible for additional scholarship support. During the scholarship cycle, the University will award scholarship amounts averaging $2,500 each to qualified students based on need and academic performance. The maximum sholarship award is $10,000.

The scholarships will support students from the following areas:

  • Active duty U.S. Navy Nuclear Program students, military service members and veterans in related programs
  • Graduates enrolled in or applying to the University's programs through the Nuclear Energy Institute's Nuclear Uniform Curriculum Program with community college partners
  • Graduates of the University's undergraduate program in Nuclear Engineering Technology who wish to upgrade their degree status and earn an ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in Nuclear Energy Engineering Technology
